The U2 360° tour is coming to the new Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Monday, July 19, 2010. As of now, this is set to be the final show in the United States of the 3rd leg of the 360° tour.
Through the 80′s, 90′s and today, U2 has continued to produce hit after hit. The tour’s set list includes classic songs such as “With Or Without You,” “Sunday Bloody Sunday,” “Beautiful Day,” and more. Since the tour is in support of their 2009 album No Line on the Horizon, the tour will features songs from that album as well. These songs include “Magnificent,” “I’ll Go Crazy if I Don’t Go Crazy Tonight,” and more.
The band has created a unique 360° experience for audiences to enjoy. It features a massive stage, which structure allows the crowd to see the band without any obstruction. As the band performs there is a 360° TV screen hovering above the stage. This allows everyone in any seat to have a great view of the concert.

On September 25, 1976 U2 was formed in Dublin, Ireland. The Irish rock band has now launched a world wide concert tour starting in Barcelona, Spain called the 360° Tour. The tour is in support of their twelfth studio album, No Line on the Horizon, which is highy acclaimed. The 360° Tour is the band’s first tour since their Vertigo one back in 2006.
U2′s show director, Willie Williams worked with creative architect, Mark Fisher, to design one of the most innovative concert stages ever. Willie Williams has worked with U2 for each one of their tours since 1982.
Named for it’s unique stage design, U2′s 360° tour’s stage structure allows the crowd to be able to enjoy the band without anything in the way of their view. The stage is completely surrounded with audiences on all sides. As the band performs there is a 360° TV screen hovering over the stage allowing everyone in the audience to have a great view. This will be the first time a band has toured with a stage that has such an original and uncommon structure.
U2 will be playing two shows at Giants Stadium, one on Wednesday, September 23rd and one on Thursday, September 24th. Get your U2 concert tickets now!

I filed this nugget under “N” for “no big surprise” – U2′s new album gets rave reviews from Rolling Stone magazine. While I say it’s not a surprise, I can’t really offer any critique myself, as I haven’t listened to it yet – I won’t lie, I’m not a huge U2 fan. But U2 is one of those bands that no “cool” critic or publication would ever publish a negative review about, so in that sense, there is absolutely no surprise.
Rolling Stone gave the new album “No Line on the Horizon” a stellar 5-star review which should go a long way in helping their album sales as well as the U2 concert tickets that are already going fast. I’m sure the album is good -U2 has already proven that they can stand the test of time – but I can’t help but wonder how much of the praise is out or respect for their entire catalog.
I guess there’s only one way to find out…
After much anticipation, U2′s latest release has hit the store shelves today! “No Line on the Horizon” is available today at your local retailers, as well as electronically through sites like Amazon.com and iTunes.
Much speculation has begun about the album as many critics are already praising it as one of the best albums of the year. In fact Rolling Stone magazine not only gave the album 5-stars (its highest rating) but also compares it to one of their greats, saying of Bono and the album, “He is still singing about singing, all over ‘No Line on the Horizon,’ U2′s first album in nearly five years and their best… since ‘Achtung Baby’.”
