In another thrilling Super Bowl that literally came down to the very last play before the winner was certain, the NFC Champion New York Giants defeated the AFC Champion New England Patriots 21-17. In a rematch of Super Bowl XLII which also was a nail-biter, the New York Giants once again prevailed. This time taking the lead for good with just under a minute remaining in the 4th quarter.

Knowing that the Giants would try to eat up as much clock as possible and would definitely take the lead either by a field goal or by a touchdown, the New England Patriots took a chance and allowed NY’s Ahmad Bradshaw to score an uncontested touchdown. This gave the Patriots as much time as was left on the clock to try and score a touchdown of their own to win the game.

The kickoff was a touchback and the Patriots took over on their own 20, needing to gain 80 yards in 56 seconds to avoid losing another Super Bowl at the hands of the Giants. It did not look good as the Giants D appeared up to the task and it quickly became a 4th down and 16 yards to go situation. But New England is a tough, talented squad and were not going to go quietly. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady completed a pass to Deion Branch who gained the first down and got out of bounds to stop the clock.

Brady completed another pass to TE Aaron Hernandez then the Giants were caught with too many men on the field, giving New England 5 free yards.

It was Patriots ball on the 50 with only 9 seconds left. Time to resort to Hail Mary bombs.

Brady tried to cut the field a bit shorter with another pass to Branch but he was out of bounds and it fell incomplete. It all came down to one play.

With the Super Bowl on the line, Brady heaved a Hail Mary to the end zone, a cluster of players lept for the ball, it deflected downward and was not more than 2 feet from TE Rob Gronkowski but it was far enough out of his reach that it fell harmlessly to the turf with time expired, the New York Giants had won their fourth Super Bowl.

This was an exciting game no matter which team you were rooting for as the lead changed hands a few times and it all boiled down to execution of the two-minute offense for both sides. The Giants were able to march down the field and take the lead, the Patriots were not.

Next year’s Super Bowl will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Do not miss out on the biggest game of the year, sign up now to receive a free email alert when 2013 Super Bowl tickets can be ordered.

New York Yankees Tickets

One surprise at first glance is seeing New York Yankees tickets making the list but with news of Jorge Posada retiring this past week and spring training about to get started, it really isn’t hard to imagine how fans would have baseball on their mind and the season is really not that far off.

Bruce Springsteen’s first tour in two years with the E Street Band has also made the list as tickets for those shows are very popular.

And of course the number one event is Super Bowl XLVI between the New York Giants and New England Patriots, coming up this Sunday but there’s still time to buy tickets.

Check back next week for the list of top 5 events for the current week.

With a nail-biting 23-20 victory over the Baltimore Ravens, the New England Patriots became the first team to advance on to Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis, Indiana and the New York Giants needed overtime to defeat the San Francisco 49ers to move on to the Super Bowl.

In a hard fought AFC Championship Game, New England was able to hang on and dodge a few bullets including a broken up but very catchable pass in the end zone and a missed “chippy” field goal by usually reliable Baltimore placekicker Billy Cundiff. Cundiff missed a 32 yard field goal attempt in the waning moments which would have pushed the game to overtime. A heartbreaking loss for the visitors was an euphoric triumph for Tom Brady and the Patriots who are looking to add more hardware to their collection.

Making a repeat of Super Bowl 42, the New York Giants won the NFC Championship in the late game on Sundayl. The Giants caused a turnover on a punt return which led to the game winning overtime field goal by Lawrence Tynes, the second time Tynes has kicked an OT field goal to lead the Giants to the Super Bowl as he did the same in 2008 versus Green Bay.

The Super Bowl is scheduled for February 5 at Lucas Oil Stadium and you can order Super Bowl tickets now to see these two great franchises battle it out a second time for the NFL Championship.

After beating the Green Bay Packers, 37-20 the New York Giants are headed to San Francisco next Sunday to play for the NFC championship. The Giants are one game away from a second Super Bowl appearance in the past four years.

When the Giants met the San Francisco 49ers in November, during regular season play, they lost 27-20. This was the first of four consecutive losses for the Giants. The Giants are looking at this match-up with the 49ers as a chance to avenge this loss.

“I’m going to go ahead and answer this for you: Do we feel we’re gonna win in San Fran?’’ Tuck said. “Yes, we feel like we’re gonna win in San Fran. Am I guaranteeing a win? No, I’m not.’’

As this will be the 13th conference championship game for the 49ers, the third most of any team, they are going in with quite a bit of experience. This is the fifth conference championship for the New York Giants, who are heading into this game with a 4-0 record for this round.

Both starting quarterbacks were number 1 picks in the NFL draft. Manning was the No. 1 pick in 2004, and Smith was the No. 1 pick in 2005. This will be only the second time in history that two No. 1 overall picks have faced each other in a conference championship.

The winner of this game will play the winner of the AFC Championship in the Super Bowl. The AFC Championship will feature the Baltimore Ravens vs New England Patriots.

Find Super Bowl tickets now and see which team will be crowned world champions this year.

It looks like this year’s Super Bowl XLV may be the last National Football League game… or at least for a good chunk of time. The NFL and its players are in the midst of a labor dispute that could potentially cancel the 2011-2012 season altogether.

The executive vice-president of the NFL’s business operations, Eric Grubman, could be to blame. He is a former investment banker who seems to be the core of an important labor dispute. On March 3 the current collective bargaining agreement will expire, and until a new one is put into effect there will be no more NFL games.

There are a few specific issues concerning the potential 2011 lockout. The major issues between the NFL players and the owners all have to do with money. The first issue is of revenue, as in that all the owners are in favor of closer to a 50/50 split in total revenue. The owners also would like an 18-game schedule, and a rookie wage scale. The players are opposed to this, but would like to receive better healthcare.

Could it be that the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers will be the last Super Bowl for awhile? Don’t miss out on your chance to see a Super Bowl live, and in person! Super Bowl XLV will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Rumors are swirling that next month’s Super Bowl XLV will set an all time high attendance record at the Cowboys Stadium. These rumors are springing from the NFL’s decision to count tickets for outside the stadium as well.

The current Super Bowl attendance record was set in 1980 at California’s Rose Bowl with an attendance of almost 104,000 people. The Texas Stadium may break that record this year with the sale of outside tickets.

This year, the Cowboys are selling $200 tickets to an outside plaza for Super Bowl XLV. These tickets were first available to Cowboys season ticket holders, and could account for thousands of tickets. On Wednesday, NFL’s vice president of corporate communications, Brian McCarthy, told CNN that these tickets will count in the game’s attendance tally.

With counting these outsize plaza tickets, the stadium has expanded its capacity from 80,000 to around 100,000. The stadium has already set an NFL attendance record for having the highest attendance for a single-game. This record was set in 2009 with a crowd of 105,121 people, and this year they may have another attendance record under their belt.

Super Bowl XLV will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

On Wednesday the New York Jets and the New York Giants made their bid to host the 2014 Super Bowl at the new Meadowlands Stadium. However, there is some controversy surrounding this bid as it will be the first time the Super Bowl will not be held in a stadium with a roof, or in a place where the minimum game day temperature is around 50 degrees.

These have been the requirements since the first Super Bowl in 1967, but when the National Football League waived those game day requirements it gave the Jets and the Giants the go-ahead to submit a joint bid to be the host. On May 25 NFL owners will be voting on the game’s 2014 location.

The game will either be held in NYC, South Florida, or Tampa, and it will be up to the 32 NFL owners who are voting to decide. If none of the cities get votes from 24 of the owners (75 percent of the vote) on the first ballot, then no one will be determined the winner. However, the city with the lowest votes will be removed from the competition, and then the winner will be decided on the second ballet by majority rule.

Tickets for the 2014 Super Bowl are not on sale yet, but you can sign up for Super Bowl Tickets Alert to be notified by Select A Ticket when they are on sale!

As the New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts take the field on Sunday, many NFL fans will be curious to see if Dwight Freeney of the Colts will be playing in the Super Bowl.

On Sunday night the colts were describing the defensive end’s injury to his lower ankle just a sprain, but ESPN described him as having torn ankle ligaments. They also made it clear that it is a serious injury and may keep Dwight Freeney out of the Super Bowl. In any case, he will most likely be sitting out for the major practices leading up to the big game.

A sports injury expert named Will Carroll explained that if the injury is a Grade 3 ligament injury that means the ligaments in his ankle are 50% torn or more. He suspects that injury won’t heal quickly enough since it occurred not long ago, towards the ending of the AFC Championship Game. However, he also mentioned that he couldn’t imagine Freeney not playing.

Super Bowl XLIV will be played on Sunday February 7, 2010 at the Sun Life Stadium (formerly Dolphin Stadium) in Miami, Florida. See for yourself in person if Dwight Freeney’s injury will be enough to keep him out of the biggest NFL game of the year.

Super Bowl XLIV is scheduled for February 7, 2010 at Sun Life Stadium (formerly Dolphin Stadium) in Miami Gardens, Florida.

The Colts fell behind the New York Jets early in the AFC Championship game but with support from their home crowd were able to rattle off 24 unanswered points to claim the AFC title. The NY Jets can be proud of the season they had as at mid-season it seemed the playoffs were out of reach.

In the NFC Championship game it took an overtime session to decide the winner. In a great battle with the Minnesota Vikings, the New Orleans Saints were able to pull out a victory with an overtime field goal by kicker Garrett Hartley.

Both teams fought hard to win their conferences but nothing will compare to the pressure of playing in the Super Bowl. The Colts with league MVP Peyton Manning at quarterback and the Saints with charismatic leader Drew Brees at the helm are two offensive powerhouses that are sure to put on a great show. Super Bowl XLIV is shaping up to be one heck of a game.

Not to be forgotten is the halftime show provided by The Who. With classic songs like My Generation, Who Are You, Baba O’Riley and Won’t Get Fooled Again, even halftime will be hard-hitting!

Before all is said and done, Super Bowl XLIV looks like it will be one for the ages — find Super Bowl tickets today at SelectATicket.com.

While the National Football League playoffs are heading into the Conference Championships this weekend to determine the combatants for Super Bowl XLIV, SelectATicket.com is already accepting requests for Super Bowl Tickets.

The Indianapolis Colts will host the New York Jets to determine the AFC champions and the Minnesota Vikings travel to New Orleans to take on the Saints in the NFC Championship Game. The two Conference champions will compete for the Super Bowl at LandShark Stadium in Miami on February 7.

“No matter which teams advance to the Super Bowl, it is one of the biggest annual events in all of sports and with halftime entertainment provided by The Who this year, Super Bowl tickets are going to be hard to come by,” says Tom Patania, CEO of SelectATicket.

The Indianapolis Colts feature a strong offense with star quarterback Peyton Manning, wide receiver Reggie Wayne and tight end Dallas Clark providing the bulk of the offense. However, they will face the NFL’s stingiest defense in the New York Jets. This season the Jets led the NFL in Total Yards Allowed per game and Passing Yards Allowed per game.

In the NFC, the high powered offense of the New Orleans Saints is what has brought them this far. Quarterback Drew Brees and Co. defeated the Arizona Cardinals 45-14 to advance to the NFC Championship game. The Minnesota Vikings, led by veteran quarterback Brett Favre, handily defeated the Dallas Cowboys 34-3 to earn the chance to play for the NFC Championship.

With a spot in the Super Bowl on the line, both games are certain to be hard-fought battles.

In a game that perhaps exceeded the expectations of most of us, the Pittsburg Steelers outlasted the Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl 43 on Sunday. Despite the great play of Kurt Warner and Larry Fitzgerald – particularly late in the game – the Steelers were able to strike last and eventually put out the flames.

It was Ben Roethlisberger’s touchdown pass to Santonio Holmes (and subsequently Holmes’ phenomenal footwork) that gave the Steelers the win. This followed a phenomenal 2-minute drill that drove the Steelers down field to give them a chance in the final minutes.

Fans who were lucky enough to procure Super Bowl tickets were on the edge of their seats in the fourth quarter when Arizona QB Kurt Warner found Larry Fitzgerald over the middle for a 64 yard touchdown to put Arizona up 23-20 with 2:37 left in the game. But much to the credit of Mike Tomlin, the Pittsburgh coaching staff, and the Roethlisberger-Holmes connection, the Steelers closed the deal.

Santonio Holmes was named the Super Bowl 43 MVP, but the award could easily have gone to Roethlisberger, or James Harrison, who’s 100-yard interception return to end the first half set the pace. All-in-all, Super Bowl 43 was one of the best football games of the century, and great way to close out the NFL season!

Sunday is the Super Bowl and the Cardinals are in it – like it or not. There are many people out there who are still saying that the Cardinals don’t deserve to be there, and I just simply don’t agree. Granted their regular season didn’t go so well, but you can’t fault any team for winning their division – regardless of how bad the NFC West is.

Though they ‘barely’ made it into the playoffs, they have torn through some solid competition in the playoffs including the Panthers on the road and the Eagles, who were the consensus favorites to make the Super Bowl. Nevertheless the Cardinals got it done.

They deserve our respect. Tune in or grab Super Bowl tickets and see if they can continue their remarkable run.

Despite the recent concerns about the status Ben Roethlisberger and Hines Ward’s injuries, the Steelers remain one touchdown favorites over the Cardinals in Super Bowl 43. The Steelers have had the best defense in the league all season, and when their offense is clicking, they have been absolutely unstoppable.

The Cardinals have relied on their powerful offense, led by Kurt Warner, all season and they are looking to expose the gaps in the Steelers D that few teams have found throughout the season. Apparently the oddsmakers believe that a powerful defense trumps a powerful offense, thus the 7 point advantage to Pittsburgh.

I’m not a betting man, but I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see the Cardinals cover that spread as we end up with a field goal deciding the Super Bowl Champion. Don’t think I’m right? Grab some Super Bowl tickets and see for yourself.

As the Pittsburgh Steelers gear up to face the Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl 43, they can reflect back on their 2008 season and pinpoint the aspects of their game that have led them this far. One shining piece of their amazing season is their staunch defense which has made them a Super Bowl contender all season long.

This season the Steelers ranked at the top in every major defensive statistical category, some of which are as follows:

2nd in Total Defense (YPG)

5th in Passing Defense (YPG)

1st in Rushing Defense (YPG)

1st in Defensive Touchdowns (Total)

1st in Scoring Defense (PPG)

It has often been said that “defense wins championships”… Well we are about to see if that remains true in 2009. Grab Super Bowl tickets now and watch the hard-hitting, fast-paced, nose-to-nose style of the AFC champion Pittsburgh Steelers.

In one of the most improbable late-season runs in recent NFL history, the Arizona Cardinals are set to face the Steelers in Super Bowl XLIII. Behind a phenomenal first effort (mostly by Larry Fitzgerald) was enough to push the Cardinals on to victory, despite a late surge from Philadelphia.

At 38 years of age, Kurt Warner is perhaps the biggest story of this post season. Entering his second Super Bowl of the 21st century, he may be the difference for the potent Arizona offense this year. Additionally, the tandem of Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin could rack up the yards in a big way for the Cardinal’s passing game.

We get one weekend off before the big game, but grab your Super Bowl tickets now and get the best prices!

The NFC title game is now set as the Eagles of Philadelphia will face the Arizona Cardinals in Phoenix this weekend. After two surprising contests concluded this past weekend, we are down to the two top dogs in the NFC.
On Saturday, the Philadelphia Eagles visited New York to face the Giants. In a defensive contest that saw only one touchdown scored (the Giants managed only 3 field goals and a safety), the Eagle prevailed 23-11.

Sunday brought the blowout that everyone expected, only the “wrong” team prevailed as Arizona overcame their East coast woes to absolutely obliterate the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte, 33-13. Kurt Warner showed he still has what it takes.

Which NFC team will prevail this Sunday and play in Super Bowl XLIII? Grab some tickets and find out!

Now, let’s zoom in on the AFC momentarily. Many people believe that the AFC is the conference to beat this year, with Baltimore, Tennessee, San Diego, and Pittsburgh all vying for a spot in the Super Bowl.

This week finds Tennessee and Pittsburgh waiting in the wings to face the winners of last week’s matchups as San Diego and Baltimore will travel to Pittsburgh and Nashville, respectively to try and steal road victories from the AFC’s best.

If San Diego moves on, they will have ensured the toughest path to the AFC championship in a while. After hosting Indianapolis, they would have to go to Pittsburgh and still take on the winner of Baltimore/Tennessee on the road in the championship game. Wow.

For the Titans, many people think they will have to play their A game in order to handle very hot Ravens team when they come into Tennessee’s stadium. Regardless of the outcome, we are looking at great matchups from here on out in the NFL playoffs. Grab your playoff and Super Bowl tickets.

Let’s focus on the NFC for a bit, shall we? The reigning Super Bowl champions, the New York Giants are looking to defend their title as they face a tough Philadelphia team in New York this weekend. These two teams are no strangers to one another as they are both out of the NFC East, and have played each other twice in the regular season, swapping victories of a touchdown or less each time.

On the other side of the bracket, we have Arizona and Carolina who play on completely different sides of the country and have not faced each other all year. Both teams did, however clinch their divisions rather early and are looking to take it to the next level with a Super Bowl berth.

Grab some Super Bowl tickets now and root for your favorite!

There are certain “once-in-a-lifetime” experiences that simply cannot be passed up on, and having the chance to see the most watch sporting event in the world is one of them.

Regardless of fandom, we know there are going to be two great teams and plenty of great talent on display in Tampa at Super Bowl 43, and your loved one deserves to be there! Doesn’t he?

Ticket prices are probably more reasonable than you think, so give them a look and make this a Christmas to remember.

With the playoffs set, we know who will be representing the AFC in the hunt for the 2009 Super Bowl. Perhaps the biggest surprise was the AFC East where somehow not only did New England mange to miss an opportunity to defend its AFC crown, but amazingly, the Miami Dolphins have turned a complete 180 by winning the division only one year after an abysmal 1-16 campaign in 2007.

The first round will consist of several intriguing matchups including the worst playoff team, San Diego (at 8-8) actually getting to host former Super Bowl champions in the Colts. Also, Baltimore will get a chance to avenge itself as the only team to lose to Miami last year, when they travel to Miami to face the Dolphins.

Meanwhile, Tennessee and Pittsburgh wait in the wings to face the winners in week two.

The playoffs are bound to be an exciting prelude to what will surely be a great Super Bowl, so grab your tickets today!

Week 17 is in the books and we now know who the 12 teams are who will be representing the NFL in the 2009 playoffs. The bracket is as follows:

For the NFC

New York Giants

Carolina Panthers

Minnesota Vikings

Arizona Cardinals

Atlanta Falcons

Philadelphia Eagles

and for the AFC

Tennesse Titans

Pittsburgh Steelers

Miami Dolphins

Baltimore Ravens

San Diego Chargers

Indianapolis Colts

The Giants and Titans have home field advantage throughout the playoffs, while the Steelers and Panthers join them with home field advantage in round 2. In addition to the defending champion Giants being in the playoffs again, perhaps the most interesting omissions are those of Dallas and New England – perennial contenders who fell short this season.

The playoffs are bound to be great, so grab your tickets – including tickets to the Super Bowl.

After a great NFL season, it only makes sense that the playoffs would be equally exciting – and while no games have yet been played, the 2008 NFC playoffs are shaping up to be something special. The defending Superbowl champs, the upstart Philadelphia Eagles and the absence of the Dallas Cowboys are perhaps the highlights of the NFC bracket.

Additionally, the Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers, Minnesota Vikings and Atlanta Falcons are all in – and looking to replace the Giants as kings of the NFC.

The action starts this weekend with the NFC Wild Card playoffs which will pit the Atlanta Falcons against the Arizona Cardinals while the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Vikings of Minnesota. Meanwhile, the Giants and Panthers are waiting in the wings in the Divisional round next week.

Sunday’s matchup between the Pittsburg Steelers and New York Giants was, for many pundits, a preview of this year’s Super Bowl. The Giants, led by Eli Manning, Brandon Jacobs, and Plaxico Burress look like contenders to make a repeat appearance in the Super Bowl, while the Steelers, led by Ben Rothelesburger and Hines Ward are looking to take the next step in returning as the AFC champions after a 2 year drought.

In a back-and-forth matchup that saw 5 lead changes, it was the Giants who pulled it out with 12 of their 21 points coming in the fourth quarter. John Carney converted four field goals for the Giants who struggled to find the end zone until there were just over 3 minutes left in the game when Manning found Kevin Boss for a two-yard touchdown which effectively sealed that game for the Giants.

After watching the game, there’s no doubt that these two teams could be seeing each other down the road for the NFL’s championship. Keep an eye on both teams and grab some Super Bowl tickets now.
