Roger Waters, the mastermind behind the legendary English rock band Pink Floyd, has reinvented one of the most celebrated albums of all time, and he will be performing it in its entirety on a solo world tour. Waters has completely rebuilt the conceptually impressive album, “The Wall” in order to perform it to sold out arenas.

“The Wall” as an album displays themes that are timeless, but the tour itself will be completely modern. As Waters performs the hugely successful, 31-year-old album around the world once more, an actual wall will be constructed built in the middle of the audience and the stage.

The performance won’t let you down as it will feature million dollar lasers, animation from artists Gerald Scarf, and global conflict and pop culture images from the yesterday and today igniting the stage. The show’s special effects will be modernized, bigger, and better than ever before.

Roger Waters will be bringing The Wall to New York for two shows at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, October 5 and Wednesday, October 6, along with two shows at the Nassau Coliseum on October 12th and 13th.

A Canadian band by the name of Blurred Vision is interested in tweaking and using a classic Pink Floyd song as an anthem for the Iranian youth. Pink Floyd’s founder, Roger Waters, had no reservations when granting the Toronto-based band permission to rework the lyrics to the band’s song “Another Brick in the Wall.”

Blurred Vision is fronted by two brothers who were exiled from Iran. The band has changed the lyrics to the song in a way that allows them to express how the young people of Iran feel towards the government. In Iran it is illegal to play rock music, and the song mostly displays the youth feeling indignation and resentment towards the government for that reason.

The band has received much encouragement from Roger Waters, who habitually supports artists using music to prove a point they are trying to make. “Another Brick in the Wall” is off Pink Floyd’s 1979 classic album “The Wall.” Waters will begin his tour of “The Wall” on September 15, 2010.
