Jets QB Sanchez Will Be Ready for Bears
Sunday, December 26th, 2010Although the New York Jets endured a disappointing 38-34 loss at Soldier Field against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, they still have managed to clinch a playoff berth. This is the first time since 2001-2002 that New York has made the playoffs two seasons in a row.
The Jets (10-5) can thank the Jacksonville Jaguars, and their loss to the Washington Redskins in overtime for earning them a chance to be in the playoffs as a Wild Card team. Coach Rex Ryan admitted that the Jets’ spot in the playoffs was not earned “the way I wanted it, but I’ll take it.”
Since both teams are ranked high defensively, Sunday’s game was assumed to be an even game with not a lot of points on the board. However, the Jets’ defense allowed five touchdowns, which included three in just one quarter. Chicago’s QB Jay Cutler completed 13 passes for 215 yards and three touchdowns.
The Jets had an overall lousy performance in their loss to the Bears, and most certainly will not get much further through the playoffs if they continue down this path. The New York Jets will host their next game at the New Meadowlands Stadium against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, January 2, 2010.
