Jets Fans Approve of Jason Taylor
Friday, June 25th, 2010In April the New York Jets made some odd changes during the off season which included signing a defensive player that left some Jets fans confused. Jason Taylor, a former Miami Dolphin, signed a two-year contract with the Jets after publicly badmouthing the team, and the intelligence of the fans, for many years.
Taylor was expecting the fans to be angry towards him at Wednesday’s minicamp practice at the New Meadowlands Stadium because of the comments he has made in the past. Taylor unfortunately did experience some boos from the fans, but they was short lived. By the end of practice he was high fiving fans and signing autographs. Fans even began to cheer for him, which was much appreciated by Taylor.
The 35 year old defensive linemen did not participate much in Wednesday’s practice. He underwent shoulder surgery which he is currently in the process of recovering from. The surgery certainly is limiting his ability to practice, but the fans liked him anyway.
The Jets will play their first preseason game against the New York Giants as they open up their home at the New Meadowlands Stadium together on Monday, August 16, 2010.
