Greenbay Packers Experience “Lombardi” on Broadway
Tuesday, February 15th, 2011On Sunday, the Green Bay Packers brought home the Super Bowl Trophy after defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25. Following the Packers’ victory, the producers of the Broadway play “Lombardi” invited the members of the team and their wives to attend a show.
In honor of their legendary former coach, fullback John Kuhn, cornerback Charles Woodson, along withpresident and CEO Mark Murphy, are planning to travel to New York City this Tuesday in order to see a performance of the play.
This new American play is based on the biography written by Pulitzer Prize-winning author, David Maraniss, called When Pride Still Mattered: A Life of Vincent Lombardi.
Vince Lombardi has many accomplishments under his belt, including leading the Packers to victory in the first two Super Bowls. His unique way of leading the Packers, along with his ability to create a team unlike any other made him one of the most celebrated coaches in Packers’ history.
Lombardi’s life and career as the head coach of the Packers is now being commemorated in the lobby of Circle in The Square Theatre. The lobby is complete with Hall of Fame memorabilia, along with current championship T-shirts to celebrate the Packers’ Super Bowl win.
