Don’t Miss Tony Award Winning Musical ‘Jersey Boys’
Sunday, September 11th, 2011Since the mid-1960’s, pop/rock band Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons have been an internationally popular American musical group, known for time-tested hits such as “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and “Walk Like a Man”. The story of the legendary Four Seasons is now on Broadway depicted in the hit musical “Jersey Boys”.
With music developed by former Four Seasons member Bob Gaudio, lyrics by producer Bob Crewe and book developed by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, Jersey Boys has received four Tony Awards, including “Best Musical” (2006) since its 2005 Broadway debut.
The story of Jersey Boys follows former Four Seasons members Matt Bogart (played by Nick Massi), Bob Gaudio (Ryan Jesse), Tommy DeVito (Dominic Nolfi) and Frankie Valli (Jarrod Spector) throughout their rags-to-riches life stories. While depicting their development as a musical group, Jersey Boys portrays the personal struggles of the New Jersey natives such as family tragedies, financial struggles and Mafia involvement.
Though Jersey Boys is based on a fast-paced story telling aspect, it is also filled with countless Four Seasons musical classics, such as “December 1963 (Oh What a Night!)” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You”. The intersection of nostalgic music, gripping story lines and Broadway quality performances makes it an enjoyable production for everyone.
