Jersey Boys has been captivating audiences since its opening on November 6, 2005 at the August Wilson Theatre. Now in it’s fourth year, the musical has lengthened its booking to January 2, 2011.
Told in a documentary style, Jersey Boys is the story of the popular 1960′s rock and roll band, The Four Seasons. Band members Frankie Valli, Tommy Devito, Nick Massi, and Bob Gaudio are all blue collar boys who together become a huge hit sensation. The musical tells the coming of age of the band while highlighting their rise, fall, and success.
The musical opened to great reviews from the New York Post, Star-Ledger, and others. Then in 2006 Jersey Boys was named the winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical. Audiences and critics agree that this one of a kind musical is still going strong.
Jersey Boys would not be as successful if it weren’t for all of the people involved including two-time Tony Award winning director Des McAnuff, writers Rick Elice and Marshall Brickman, and choreographer Sergio Trujillo.
