Major League Baseball along with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the city of Anaheim are beginning an innovative project that will benefit the youth of Anaheim. This is a part of the charity and reconstruction theme called “Going Beyond,” which was established for the 2010 MLB All-Star Summer in Anaheim, CA.
Managed by the Angels Baseball Foundation and the Magical Builders, the project entails reconstruction of youth softball and baseball fields. This existing field at Pioneer Park will be renamed “All-Star Field #1″ and is to be used by many programs, including Little League.
In addition, a new Miracle League Field will be built to offer many opportunities for children with special needs to play baseball. This new field at Pioneer Park will be called “All-Star Field #2″ which is going to be designed for use by special needs groups. This field will include many custom designs such as wheelchair accessible dugouts and a completely flat surface which will be cushioned and rubberized minimize injuries.
The Scotts Company, officially named Lawn Care Company of Major League Baseball and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim will be supporting the renovations of the youth fields, as well as the brand new Miracle League Field.
The 2010 MLB All-Star Game will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Angel Stadium.
