Here’s the top 5 list for the past week:

  1. NBA All Star Game
  2. Super Bowl XLIX
  3. MLB All Star Game
  4. WWE: Raw
  5. NBA All Star Saturday Night

With just under a month to go until the February 15 NBA All Star Game at Madison Square Garden, there is still time to purchase tickets to the NBA’s marquee event.

Speaking of marquee events, how about the biggest single day sporting event of them all? The Super Bowl comes in second, and this was before it was known who would be playing!

Following Sunday’s conference championship games, we now know it will be the New England Patriots trying to prevent the Seattle Seahawks from repeating as Super Bowl champions on February 1st in Glendale, AZ.

Not to be outdone by the other pro sports, the MLB All Star Game also made the list. Slated for Tuesday, July 14 at the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, OH, the MLB All Star Game is a big hit with baseball fans every year. Seeing as it made the top five list in January, it is clear that will not be changing in 2015.

Fourth place this week is snatched by WWE: Raw. Wrestling fans can catch WWE: Raw right in Select-A-Ticket’s own backyard when it comes to Newark’s Prudential Center on March 2nd, 2015. With great ringside seating available, now is the time to order tickets before they disappear. March will be here before you know it.

Last but not least is yet another NBA All Star related event, the NBA All Star Saturday Night extravaganza at Barclays Center. A night of excitement and fun is in store for anybody attending All Star Saturday Night which includes the ever-popular Slam Dunk Contest. The chance to see an event like this only comes to a city once every 20 years or so, it is expected these events will continue to be hot right up until the day they’re held.

Todd BowlesThe New York Jets have wasted little time in replacing recently fired GM John Idzick and Head Coach Rex Ryan, bringing in two New Jersey natives to help right the ship.

Cleaning house on December 29th, the Jets took just a hair over two weeks to name their replacements. Hightstown, New Jersey native Mike Maccagnan takes the reigns as General Manager and Elizabeth, New Jersey Todd Bowles leaves his post as Defensive Coordinator with the Arizona Cardinals to take over as head coach of the New York Jets.

The 51-year-old Bowles is a former defensive back with the Washington Redskins and has spent 15 years an an assistant coach in the NFL. In the 2000 season, he was part of the Jets coaching staff when he coached the Defensive Backs under Al Groh.

The pair have their work cut out for them. Under Rex Ryan last season, the Jets finished last in the AFC East, compiling a record of 4-12. While the Jets for the most part had a solid defense during Ryan’s tenure, they struggled mightily to establish stability and consistency on the offensive side of the ball. A series of Offensive Coordinator and starting quarterback changes failed to improve the team’s production.

The pair of Maccagnan and Bowles bring a renewed sense of optimism to MetLife Stadium for New York Jets fans as they look forward to the draft and training camp with great anticipation.
