Henrik Lundqvist makes glove save at Madison Square GardenFor the first time in 20 years, the New York Rangers have advanced to the Stanley Cup Final.

The Rangers will faceoff against the winner of the Western Conference Final series which last night was pushed to a Game 7 by virtue of a come from behind third period victory for the Chicago Blackhawks over the Los Angeles Kings.

The Blackhawks will host the 7th and deciding game at the United Center Sunday night.

The Western Conference winner will have home ice advantage due to each team having a better record than the Rangers in the regular season, so the Rangers already know they’re opening on the road.

This doesn’t faze the Blueshirts as they won a franchise record 25 games on the road. The Rangers have 6 road wins during the playoffs, thus far.

The Blackhawks were down 3 games to 1 in this series but pulled out a thrilling double overtime win in Game 5 to stave off elimination and scored twice on just 3 shots during the third period last night to tie and then win Game 6. The defending champions are not going down without a fight!

Los Angeles boasts a combination of skill and size as they lead the NHL in hits during the post season and they’re led by potent offensive contributors like Marian Gaborik, Jeff Carter and Anze Kopitar.

Either team will prove to be a challenge for the Rangers who will be considered the underdog against either team but the Rangers have had some resilience of their own in these playoffs, most notably coming back from a 3 games to 1 deficit to eliminate Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and the Pittsburgh Penguins in Round 2.

Games 3, 4 and 6 (if necessary) will be played at Madison Square Garden. Games 4 and 6 are expected to be the most expensive as these are games which currently have the potential of being the night the Stanley Cup gets awarded.

Visit for Rangers Stanley Cup Final tickets and feel the electricity in the air at the world-famous Madison Square Garden!
