Winnipeg to host Heritage ClassicThe NHL announced earlier this month the 2016 Heritage Classic will be held in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The Winnipeg Jets will host the game at Investors Group Field. Date and opponent have yet to be announced but in sticking with past Heritage Classic tradition, it is expected to be another Canadian-based NHL team. Perhaps the Edmonton Oilers? Time will tell.

Regardless of who the Jets will play, this is a great victory for the people of Winnipeg who date back to the days of the WHA. They supported the Jets all those year until they moved to Phoenix. Then in 2011 they were rewarded when the Atlanta Thrashers moved to Winnipeg and adopted the Jets name.

The celebration of hockey’s return to Winnipeg will be complete with an outdoor game. Just think of the old timer’s reunion game they could have with names like Bobby Hull, Dale Hawerchuck, Brian Mullen, Randy Carlyle, Bob Essensa, Thomas Steen, Keith Tkachuk and Teemu Selanne all available.

Also, the 2017 Heritage Classic is rumored to be headed to Canada’s capital as the Ottawa Senators may host the event.

Fans anxious to attend these amazing outdoor spectacles are encouraged to register now for a free email alert when Heritage Classic tickets are available through It is free to sign up and you will only receive email about Heritage Classic tickets.

Florida StateCollege football fans know that this is the final season of the BCS Series as next year the NCAA will turn to a playoff format to determine the national champion.

As things stand currently, these are the assumed matchups (according to NCAA football guru Jerry Palm) for the BCS bowls if the season were to end today. Official matchups will be released this Sunday night.

BCS Championship Game – Florida State vs Ohio State
Orange Bowl – Clemson vs Alabama
Sugar Bowl – Auburn vs UCF
Fiesta Bowl – Oklahoma State vs Northern Illinois
Rose Bowl – Michigan State vs Stanford

Again, these are best guesses and not etched in stone but they certainly would make for some good games, especially the BCS Championship Game if it were to feature Florida State vs Ohio State. Both teams have huge fan bases and Florida State has just steamrolled through the competition this season for the most part. It would be an epic battle for sure.

Check on Sunday for the final matchups and to find tickets to all NCAA bowl games, not just the BCS Series.

Auburn shakes up the BCSThe BCS Championship Game is the Super Bowl of college football. Each year the top 2 ranked teams face each other to determine the champion.

For the past two seasons, Alabama has been the winner of that title but this year could very well see a new team crowned the best college football has to offer.

Alabama has been at the top of the standings all year long but a loss this past Saturday to Auburn puts all that in jeopardy for the Crimson Tide.

As you can see by viewing the BCS Top 25 list, Florida State and Ohio State would be the current matchup.

There’s still a chance for that to change but time is running out.

The bowl game participants will be announced this Sunday evening.

At that point, everybody will know who is set to play in the BCS championship game as well as all the other major bowl games including Orange, Rose, Gator, Fiesta and Sugar just to name a few.

If you are hoping to attend the 2014 BCS Championship Game, it is a good idea to head to for tickets.
