And there’s several other top acts schedule to play their hottest hits.

The idea of all these great performers for the price of a single ticket, it is no wonder that Z100 Jingle Ball tickets are among the hottest tickets this time of year.

How much would a fan pay just to see Justin Bieber? Just Taylor Swift? A Jason Mraz concert? How about all three of them plus countless other acts you love to hear on the radio?

This hot concert is growing year after year into the must-see event of the holiday season for pop music fans.

By now you probably know that Wrestlemania XXIX will be held at MetLife Stadium on April 7, 2013.

What you may not know is that over the previous 28 years, Wrestlemania has grown from one big day of pro wrestling into a series of events surrounding what can only be described as the Super Bowl of pro wrestling and the premiere event on the annual calendar for fans.

That’s right, contrary to what you may think, WrestleMania is more than just a single day event.

There is a full week of festivities planned around the big day. The WWE has many events already scheduled for WrestleMania Week in New Jersey and New York. Some of the bonus events are: WrestleMania Axxess – this is WWE’s answer to MLB’s “FanFest”. Axxess is a four-day, interactive fan festival which will be held in East Rutherford’s IZOD Center. Other events include the WrestleMania Reading Challenge Finals, the 2013 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony which will be at Madison Square Garden (home to quite a bit of wrestling history itself). There are also and other activities with a more community-based focus. There will be rallies in support of WWE’s anti-bullying initiative and hospital visits to sick children by their favorite WWE stars. Stuff like that you do not always hear about because these gentle giants do it out of the kindness of their hearts.

For some it may be hard to believe Wrestlemania is nearly thirty years old but consider these numbers and you’ll see why it has lasted so long — it is good for business. WrestleMania XXVIII in Miami set a number of records including Sun Life Stadium’s largest attended and highest-grossing entertainment event in history. A stunning crowd of 78,363 fans from all over the world were on hand in Miami for the big day. WrestleMania XXVIII grossed $8.9 million, making it the largest event in WWE history. As if that wasn’t enough, Wrestlemania accounted for a record-breaking $102.7 million in economic impact for the city of Miami and Miami-Dade County. Now you can see why major cities across the country and around the world would love to host Wrestlemania.

The numbers are in and these were the Top 5 Events on SelectATicket.com last week:

  1. WWE: Smackdown
  2. New York Giants
  3. 2013 MLB All Star Game
  4. Wrestlemania XXIX
  5. Brazil vs Colombia at MetLife Stadium

What events will make the list this week? My guess is The Rolling Stones are going to be up there with their recently announced shows at the Prudential Center. Maybe some holiday shows too? Hard to say, but check back next Monday and see what the list looks like for sure!

With the NHL lockout now reaching Day 34, fans of the great sport cannot help but feel used by both sides during these labor negotiations.

The owners are crying that they need more money. The players are crying that they gave up 24% in the last lockout, now the owners want more?

In the end, it boils down to billionaires and millionaires arguing over how to split the money they get from various partnerships, endorsements and last but certainly not least — the fans.

There was renewed optimism just two days ago when it was learned the owners proposed an agreement to the player’s association which was promoted by the league and even posted online for anyone to see. A curious move in labor negotiations but totally within their right to do so.

The players disagreed with portions of it, as is expected in any negotiation, came up with 3 different response proposals of their own, and had all three of them rejected by ownership. So the optimism quickly turned to dread at the thought of losing another full season.

The question nobody seems to be asking here is, just how much can the fans take and still come back for more?

Hockey has done so much right in the past few years, more exposure on national TV in the United States, the annual Winter Classic is a bonafide success in every city it visits, just this past season the playoffs were absolutely thrilling and one of the biggest markets in the U.S. (Los Angeles) finally won a championship for the first time in their history… all great stuff but once again they are doing so much damage to their own business all for the sake of greed. At some point they will go too far and destroy this once great league once and for all.

The defending champion New York Giants are off to a mixed start so far this season but can really help themselves with a win this weekend.

Coming off a convincing 26-3 win over the San Francisco 49ers, and a 41 point performance the week prior vs Cleveland, the Giants are looking good heading into this week’s matchup with the upstart Washington Redskins. However, the Giants have yet to win a game against a divisional opponent as their two losses this season have come to Dallas and Philadelphia. Washington is another NFC East foe and the Giants need to start winning some games within the division to create some space for themselves in the standings.

Sunday’s Giants vs Redskins game marks the first time Redskins super rookie Robert Griffin III will take on the Giants in the Meadowlands.

Posessing a strong arm, speed to burn and a ton of moves to avoid tacklers, RG3 as he’s known is the main weapon for the Redskins. If the Giant defense can find a way to contain him, then they should be in good shape. But if he proves to give them fits like many mobile quarterbacks do, they could be in for a long afternoon.

Either way, it is going to be exicting to see RG3 at MetLife Stadium as the Redskins face the Giants in this great NFC East matchup.

While it is only week 7 of the NCAA football season, it is not too early to start looking ahead to the bowl games.

The biggest bowl game of them all of course is the BCS National Championship Game. Played in New Orleans last year featuring the Alabama Crimson Tide vs Louisiana State University Tigers, the BCS Championship Game determines the top college team in the country.

So far this season it looks like Alabama is destined for a return trip to the BCS game and their opponent may just be the Oregon Ducks. Annually near the top of the rankings and having a recent BCS appearance of their own under their belts, the Ducks are flying high again this year.

Let’s look at their upcoming schedules.

With Alabama sitting at 6-0 right now, their remaining games are:

  • at Tennessee
  • vs Mississippi St
  • at LSU
  • vs Texas A&M
  • vs Western Carolina
  • vs Auburn

With the exception of LSU (#6), there are no Top 10 opponents and it is possible ‘Bama could have an undefeated season if they show up to play each week.

Also 6-0 so far, the Oregon Ducks have a little tougher competition down the stretch but they too could run the table this year:

  • at Arizona St
  • vs Colorado
  • at USC
  • at California
  • vs Stanford
  • at Oregon St

Both Oregon St and USC are currently in the Top 10, but the Ducks could certainly take them all. Even with a loss or two, they’ll still be right up there at the top of the rankings.

Right now, it looks like this could very well be the matchup for the BCS Championship Game when it is held January 7, 2013 at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida.

Alt rock band “Muse” has added a 2nd night at Madison Square Garden due to overwhelming demand for Muse tickets in the New York City area. In addition to their already scheduled April 15 show, the band will also play the Garden on April 16, 2013.

Around since the 90s, Muse has catapulted to the forefront of alternative music over the years with their unparalleled musicianship and outstanding live performances. This combination has contributed to a massive and devoted following as you can see by the addition of another show in New York City.

Muse will also be playing at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey on April 19, 2013.

With three shows that close to the heart of New York City and North Jersey, the area may still not have enough tickets to go around!

Their sound, while all their own, often reminds listeners of the New Wave movement of the early 1980s. With prominent use of keyboards and guitar effect pedals, Muse likes to break from the mundane sound found in the music of some others and instead present an unpredictable range of audio delight. They break the mold and take listeners where no other band today can take them and that is why Muse tickets are so hard to come by.

For a band that has been around for a relatively long time, it is good to see Muse rewarded for their years of dedication to their music by gaining a major tour in some of the biggest arenas in the world. Headlining two night at Madison Square Garden is something any band in the world strives to achieve.

Down by a run in the 9th inning, Yankees manager Joe Girardi made a bold move and chose to have Raul Ibanez pinch hit for the struggling Alex Rodriguez and Ibanez promptly tied the game with a rocket to the right field seats. The home run sent the game into extra innings where Ibanez would later come up big again to win the game in the bottom of the 12th with another home run. That, my friends, is Yankees baseball — always some drama and it just goes you show you can’t miss a playoff game!

While A Rod has been struggling mightily of late, the move to actually pinch hit for him when the team needed a run speaks volumes of how far he has fallen. Now is not the time to worry about that, the team needs wins and Girardi did what he felt was best, and was proven correct, and went with the hotter hitting Ibanez.

If A Rod can recapture his prowess at the plate will be something for fans to debate but right now the Yankees hold a 2 games to 1 lead over the Orioles with a chance to advance to the American League Championship Series with a win in Game 4 tonight at Yankee Stadium.

Tickets are still available for tonight and with the way the games have been going, it promises to be a good one. What a series this has been so far!

Oct 10

The Baltimore Orioles come to the Bronx tonight for Game 3 of the ALDS against the New York Yankees. The series is currently tied at one game apiece as the teams split in Baltimore.

Tickets have been moving at a steady pace following an immediate spike once the matchup was determined late last week.

Game 1 was a 7-2 victory for the Yankees but the final score is misleading, it was a tied game until the Yankees broke it open with 5 runs in the top of the 9th inning.

Game 2 saw the Orioles win by a final score of 3-2.

Starting for the Yankees tonight will be Hiroki Kuroda and for the Orioles it will be Miguel Gonzalez taking the mound.

Game time is 7:37 PM – there are still a limited number of tickets available so head over to SelectATicket.com and maybe find some seats for tonight’s game.
