Wrestling fans are a devoted bunch and Wrestlemania is like a holiday to some of them. This is the Super Bowl of Wrestling and not just because it also uses roman numerals. Wrestlemania XXIX is Wrestlemania 29, by the way for those of you like myself who struggle with roman numbers sometimes!

Wrestlemania 29 is going to be held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on April 7, 2013 and fans can now order Wrestlemania tickets online.

This marks only the third time Wrestlemania will be held in New Jersey and the first time since Wrestlemania V back in 1989 which was in Atlantic City, as was Wrestlemania IV in 1988.

The featured match in 1989 was Hulk Hogan vs Randy Savage for the (then) WWF Championship, just to give you an idea of how long it has been since Wrestlemania’s been held in the Garden State.

The featured match in Wrestlemania XXIX is not official yet but you KNOW it is going to be a major bout. Perhaps a tag team championship, heavyweight championship, intercontinental title or a major grudge match — maybe all of the above!

Lock in now on your Wrestlemania XXIX tickets as being the first time at the Meadowlands, this is going to be a main event like WWE fans have never seen before.

NCAA football has finally announced they will be moving to a playoff format to determine the national championship. The first playoffs will be in 2014.

The NCAA football playoffs will consist of 4 conference champions playing a single elimination tournament of seeds 1 versus 4 and 2 versus 3, then the winners face in the national championship game, which will be the replacement of the BCS Championship.

College football fans have been asking for this format change for years. The current BCS system is overly complicated, severely flawed and has resulted in some uneventful national championships in the past. The hope is that this playoff format will drive more excitement and be closer to determining a true national champion as the road to the final will be much tougher than the current setup.

Fans hoping to be a part of the first year of NCAA football playoffs can sign up to receive an email alert when tickets can be ordered. The games will be played at various locations across the country year in and year out, much like the Super Bowl moves from city to city, so will the NCAA championship.

Even removed from religious contexts, the story of Jesus Christ is captivating and thematically riveting. “Jesus Christ Superstar” acknowledges this fact, converting the Passion of the Christ into a toe-tapping rock opera!

The play, written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, was first staged in 1971. The Tony Nominated play has struck up controversy due to the liberties it takes, however these very liberties catapult the last week of Christ’s life into a rocking rock opera bursting with profound lyrics and jaw-dropping visuals. The play has returned to Broadway in the famous Neal Simon Theatre!

The play addresses the importance of friendship, the necessary bravery to stand up for what is right, and the undeniable power of rock n’ roll. The play’s read of the relationship between Judas Iscariot and Jesus Christ illuminates a story that is 2000 years old, while integrating values and themes that remain relevant today. And there is more good news!

Get your Jesus Christ Superstar tickets to see it live now! Hear classic songs like “What’s the Buzz,” “I Don’t Know How to Love Him,” and “King Herod’s Song” and take a leap back two millennia to ancient Jerusalem!

Tennessee Williams’ most famous play is back on Broadway! “A Streetcar Named Desire,” which began its legendary run on Broadway in 1941, is a timeless play. It has remained relevant, addressing themes in American life for decades. It shot Marlon Brando to superstardom and remains an important piece in literature.

Now, we have the chance to see Williams’ classic play once again! The Broadhurst Theatre has brought the production back to the Big Apple. The Pullitzer Prize-winning play is being reinstated by those who produced “Cat on Hot Tin Roof” in 2008. Purchase seats at Selectaticket.com and revisit one of the most compelling dysfunctional households in American plays.

Stanley Kowalski, a hot-tempered blue collar New Orleans man, finds his life suddenly intruded upon. His wife, Stella, has allowed her sister, Blanche Dubois, to move into their small flat. He is taken aback by Stella’s self-image as a southern belle, when he views her much differently. What unfolds has been called the best dialogue in any American play. Williams’ play broke barriers and addressed taboos of early American culture.

Many have seen the 1951 film adaptation, however it is important to see “A Streetcar Named Desire” in the fashion that it was meant to be seen: onstage! So get your A Streetcar Named Desire tickets now!

According to multiple reports, the 2012-13 NHL schedule will be released Thursday June 21st.

Considering the Stanley Cup Playoffs just ended and tonight is the NHL Awards event in Las Vegas, it seems a bit soon to already have next year’s schedule released. However, fans are already anxious for next season as the excitement of the NHL playoffs will do that to you!

There are a few key dates that fans are looking forward to. First would be opening night for their favorite team, and in particular the fans of the Los Angeles Kings will be fighting hard for opening night tickets to see the raising of the first Stanley Cup banner in the team’s history.

Next up would be the January 1st Winter Classic which is going to be the biggest one yet. The Detroit Red Wings will host the Toronto Maple Leafs in one of the most memorable Original Six matchups you’ll ever find – at Michigan Stadium (“The Big House”) in Ann Arbor in front of 100,000+ fans. To spice things up even further, recently it has been announced that alcohol WILL be served (it is not served during college games at Michigan Stadium) so that should bring smiles to some faces in the crowd for sure.

The next event is the NHL All Star Game in Columbus, Ohio. This could be a real sleeper. While Columbus is not exactly the first city you think of when you think hockey, fans of the Blue Jackets support their team through thick and thin and deserve some league-wide attention. Also with this superstar captain Rick Nash expected to be traded ahead of time, the prospect of him returning to Columbus representing a different team as an NHL All-Star is something that could provide some extra excitement to the event. Will the fans jeer him or cheer him?

After that there is speculation of another NHL Heritage Classic. Just like the Winter Classic, the Heritage Classic is an outdoor game played in Canada, between two Canadian cities. The early rumors were Winnipeg between the Jets and possibly the Montreal Canadiens but it is purely speculation at this point as nothing official has been announced.

The last date on the calendar fans will be interested in will be the NHL Trade Deadline. Although there isn’t as much trade activity as there used to be, mostly due to an earlier trade deadline than in past years, the salary cap complications and parity throughout the league, the trade deadline is so exciting it is treated as a holiday by some fans. There were reports all across twitter of fans taking the day off from work to follow the trades — now that is dedication!

Whatever team you cheer for or city you live in, tomorrow is the first step in looking forward to the 2012-13 NHL season.

Just a few weeks after the first ever soccer game at the current Yankee Stadium, there will be the second one played when AC Milan meets up with Real Madrid in an international friendly between two legendary European clubs.

August 8, 2012 is the date these two powerhouses will play in the Bronx. The first game at Yankee Stadium will be Chelsea FC vs Paris Saint-Germain on July 22nd.

AC Milan is one of the most heralded teams in history, look at their list of accomplishments:

18 Italian top-flight league championships
five Italian Cups
six Italian Super Cups
seven European Cup/UEFA Champions League titles
two UEFA Cup Winners’ Cups
five UEFA Super Cups
three Intercontinental Cups
one FIFA Club World Cup

Real Madrid is no slouch either, according to their Wikipedia page:

“Real Madrid have won a record 32 La Liga and a record 9 European Cup/UEFA Champions League trophies. The club was awarded with the recognition of FIFA Club of the 20th Century on 23 December 2000.[109] It also received the FIFA Order of Merit in 2004.[110] Added to this, Real is allowed to wear a multiple–winner badge on their shirt during UEFA Champions League matches as they have won more than five European Cups.”

This is going to be one amazing match at Yankee Stadium. Buying AC Milan vs Real Madrid tickets in New York is probably something most fans never thought they’d have the chance to do but Italian, Spanish and just international soccer fans in general who are in the NY area or able to travel there are in luck. This is the year that Yankee Stadium has decided to get into the game and the fans will come out big winners.

Fans of horse racing may not be aware that they can order Belmont Stakes tickets for next year’s race already. There are many reasons why customers would want to do so.

First, you may be planning to travel to Belmont Park for the final jewel in the Triple Crown and want to be sure you’re going to get access to the race. Hotels and airfare, etc, should be planned as early as possible as this is a major sporting event which sellout well in advance.

That is another reason, the event sells out. Why struggle to secure tickets last minute when you can rest comfortably knowing you’ve got your tickets reserved?

Another reason is the market conditions. Just like any other market, there are fluctuations in ticket pricing. Ordering early allows you to avoid those changes and lock in at the early rate. As witnessed in the weeks leading up to the Belmont this year, if a horse is entering the Belmont Stakes with a shot at being the first Triple Crown winner since 1978’s Affirmed, ticket prices will escalate in accordance with demand.

Those are just some of the reasons to order now and lock in on tickets for 2013 Belmont Stakes.

In a hotly contested series, the Los Angeles Kings capped off their unlikely playoff run with the first Stanley Cup championship in franchise history.

Entering the NHL in the very first expansion year of 1968, the Kings fans have waited a long time to see their team win the most famous trophy in all of sports.

Jumping out to a 3-0 series lead, the Kings put New Jersey in a hole they could not climb out of, but the Devils gave it their all. Winning games 4 and 5, the Devils laid it all on the line and their fans should be proud of the effort put forth by their team.

Los Angeles entered the playoffs as the number 8 seed in the West and New Jersey was the number 6 seed in the East. Proving once again that it doesn’t matter where you finish in the regular season, just as long as you reach the playoffs you have a shot at the Cup.

Star goalie Jonathan Quick was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the Most Valuable Player of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. His heroics in net allowed the Kings to play their attacking style because they knew he had their backs when things tilted the other way.

The Devils fought hard and gave the Kings all they could handle but in Game 6, Devils forward Steve Bernier put his team down a man for 5 minutes when he was called for boarding. The Kings went on to score three times on the power play and the lead was enough for them to win the game. A variety of other breakdowns and an empty net goal resulted in a 6-1 Stanley Cup clinching victory for the Kings.

The Devils will be back next season though and the outlook is promising. Coming off their Stanley Cup run it is clear the team is strong. Goaltender Martin Brodeur will return as will several of their top players. The biggest question mark is what will captain Zach Parise do regarding his future — he’s scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st. However, Devils GM Lou Lamoriello always gets his man! If he wants Parise back, chances are he’ll find a way to lock his captain up to a long term deal. Assuming they secure Parise, there’s no reason the Devils cannot repeat as Eastern Conference champions and challenge for the Stanley Cup next season.

Fans can sign up now to receive an email alert when NJ Devils tickets go on sale for next season. Don’t miss opening night when they’ll hang the Eastern Conference Champions banner or their always heated games against the Rangers, Penguins and Flyers.

Justin Bieber shows are selling out left and right as his fans are everywhere and dying to see him perform live.

The New York Yankees completed a three game sweep of their crosstown rival New York Mets today by virtue of a 9th inning home run by Russell Martin. Martin’s 2nd home run of the afternoon game the Yankees a 5-4 victory, completing a comeback from a 3-0 deficit earlier in the game.

The Mets came out determined not to be swept in the Subway Series and took a 3-0 lead in the 2nd inning off a 2 run single by Jordany Valdespin but the lead would not hold up.

Mets fans may be down after this weekend but their team has had a terrific start to what was predicted to be a horrible season and they have nothing to be ashamed of at this point. Their team has played well today and are still only 4.5 games behind Washington for the NL East lead.

Over in the AL East, the Yankees currently stand half a game in back of Tampa Bay for first place.

The Yankees go on a six game road trip starting Monday with three games in Atlanta followed by three games in Washington and then come home for three more games against Atlanta at Yankee Stadium. Ironically, they can help the Mets in the standings by winning as many of their next 9 games as possible — Washington and Atlanta are both immediately ahead of the Mets in the standings.

Despite this three game setback, the Mets are still playing good baseball and exceeding expectations this season. The Yankees may have finally hit their stride and woken up their bats, just on time for another summer at Yankee Stadium. Find NY Yankees tickets or NY Mets tickets today to all home games for New York’s baseball teams.

Classic rock fans are thrilled by the news that Neil Young and Crazy Horse are touring together in 2012. This is their first time together since 2003. With a new album, “Americana” also being released this year.

In their typical gritty, grunge-inspiring style, they pound out some old standards and covers of “Oh! Susanna,” “Gallows Pole” and “This Land Is Your Land,” not to mention a killer version of “God Save the Queen.”

Opening for Neil Young and Crazy Horse on the first half of the tour will be Los Lobos and on the second leg, it will be Patti Smith.

Either act you see is going to be great — what a powerful night of rock n’ roll these concerts are going to deliver!

I recently saw a tribute to Neil Young on Palladia and it reminded me just how many fantastic songs he has written over the years.

With such hits as “Hey Hey, My My”, “Helpless”, “Down By the River”, “Powerfinger”, “Cowgirl in the Sand”, “Like a Hurricane”, “Mr Soul”, “Cortez the Killer” and countless others, a Neil Young and Crazy Horse concert is going to be a night to remember.

Neil Young and Crazy Horse will be with Patti Smith at New York’s Madison Square Garden on November 27th and in Philadelphia at Wells Fargo Center on November 29th.

Find tickets to Neil Young and Crazy Horse today for these dates and all shows on their tour.
