Calling all hockey fans! The Stanley Cup Finals are finally here, and this year things should be interesting. The New Jersey Devils and the Los Angeles Kings have powered through their respective conferences in hopes of winning one of the most important trophies in sports. While the Devils hope to win their fourth Stanley Cup in their history as a team, the King’s hope to do so for the first time.

The series allows fans to witness two of the NHL’s best offensive players, Ilya Kovalchuk and Zach Parise face off with Kings stars Dustin Brown and Mike Richards. But don’t expect too many goals, for both teams’ defenses have been on point in the playoffs. The cornerstone of each team’s defense comes from their outstanding goalies. The Kings’ 26-year-old goalie, Jonathon Quick, has been a stellar athlete all season. However one cannot forget the Devils’ Martin Brodeur, a 21-year veteran as the team’s goalie. Winning three Stanley Cup trophies over his long career, Brodeur’s experience should definitely aid those Devils who are not quite as seasoned in the postseason.

There is very little to predict in this series. We can only watch and cheer. But with Select-a-ticket, you can watch and cheer AT the game rather than from your couch! Get your New Jersey Devils Tickets now!

Not since Wayne Gretzky was their number one center have the Los Angeles Kings advanced this far in the NHL Playoffs.

With their 4-3 overtime victory on a goal by Dustin Penner, the Kings have won the Western Conference and advance to the Stanley Cup Final for their shot at their first ever Stanley Cup.

Their opponent for the Cup will be either the New Jersey Devils or the New York Rangers. Currently deadlocked at two games apiece, the Devils and Rangers will play Game 5 of their Eastern Conference Finals series tonight at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

The earliest the Rangers and Devils series could end would be this Friday, 5/25 and the latest would be Sunday 5/27.

The NHL has announced the schedule for the Finals. Either New York or New Jersey will have home ice advantage as a result of higher regular season point totals than the Los Angeles Kings.

Game 1, May 30, 8 p.m., at Eastern Conference champion
Game 2, June 2, 8 p.m., at East
Game 3, June 4, 8 p.m., at Los Angeles Kings
Game 4, June 6, 8 p.m., at Los Angeles Kings
Game 5, June 9, 8 p.m., at East
Game 6, June 11, 8 p.m., at Los Angeles Kings
Game 7, June 13, 8 p.m., at East

So, the coveted Stanley Cup will have a new home by June 13, 2012!

Will it be the first ever for the Los Angeles Kings fans, some of whom have waited since the Kings entered the league back in the 1967-68 season?

Or will the New York Rangers or New Jersey Devils prove too much for the Kings to handle?

A classic East vs West matchup awaits, and the Kings have a full week of no games until Game 1. Will they be too rusty or well rested? That’s always the question.

Find your Stanley Cup Finals tickets today and be there when the best hockey in the world is played for the oldest trophy in sports, the Stanley Cup!

Much has been made of the New Jersey Devils attempting to prevent as many New York Rangers fans from attending tomorrow’s playoff game at the Prudential Center. Game 3 of this Eastern Conference Final series will see one of the teams take a 2-1 lead in the tightly contested series.

With such close proximity to each other, fans of each team can easily obtain hockey tickets to either building, IF they know where to look. The New Jersey Devils this week have made an effort through their social media outlets and website to notify their fans to only sell tickets to fellow Devils fans. They want to do whatever they can to prevent the opposing fans, in this case the Rangers fans, from attending the Devils home games.

While this is understandable, it is not realistic. If I am a fan looking to sell, these tickets can demand a pretty penny and in our world — I’m selling to the highest bidder. The Devils don’t give their fans a discount vs. Rangers fans, why should Devils fans risk being stuck with unusable tickets only because they could not find a Devils fan willing to pay the price?

Any fan, of any team wishing to buy Rangers vs Devils playoff tickets at the Prudential Center can certainly find them online. The real treat is a great local rivalry is going on and fans of either team should be treated equally. Certainly if a Rangers fan purchased full season tickets from the NJ Devils, they are not going to turn them away. The same can be said for the other side, and any team for that matter. Business is business but asking your own fans to possibly eat tickets or not resell them for as much as possible is a questionable tactic which has opened up debate on whether the team was right or wrong to do so. Their heart’s in the right place, but was their head?

With a 3-1 win at Wells Fargo Center last night, the New Jersey Devils have advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals. Their opponent is yet to be determined. It will be the winner of the New York Rangers vs Washington Capitals series which is currently standing at a 3 games to 2 lead for New York with Game 6 being played tonight in Washington.

Should the Rangers advance, they will have home ice advantage against New Jersey. If the Capitals eliminate the Rangers, the Devils would have home ice advantage against Washington by virtue of being the higher seed. New York is the number 1 seed in the East with New Jersey 6th and Washington 7th.

After losing Game 1 to Philadelphia in overtime, the Devils rattled off four consecutive wins. An impressive feat against any opponent but especially a rival such as the Flyers. The Devils dominated the games for almost periods at a time, holding the Flyers shotless for multiple stretches of 10 minutes or more and one stretch reaching 18 minutes. The Flyers just could not muster up a consistent attack against New Jersey’s stifling defense.

Game 5 saw the Flyers start off strong, establish a 1-0 lead but they were unable to maintain it from that point forward. The Devils tied the game on a deflected shot by defenseman Bryce Salvador that slowly floated over Flyers goalie Ilya Bryzgalov’s shoulder. On the game-winning goal Devils forward David Clarkson was rewarded for aggressively forechecking Bryzgalov as he attempted to handle the puck to the side the net. It resulted in yet another glaring gaffe for the Flyers’ multi-million dollar off-season acquisition. Instead of safely playing the puck behind the net, or to his defenseman in the corner, Bryzgalov tried to fire the puck past/through Clarkson but shot it directly into him. The on rushing Clarkson deflected the puck straight into the net for what is probably the worst game-winning, series-ending goal since Steve Smith put one past Grant Fuhr in Edmonton all those years ago.

No doubt Flyers fans are wondering how they’re going to survive another 8 years on the contract for goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov.

The Devils however have survived to another round backed by veteran Martin Brodeur.

Find NJ Devils playoff tickets now for the Eastern Conference Final/Stanley Cup Semifinals against either the New York Rangers or Washington Capitals. Game 6 of that series is tonight, if Game 7 is necessary it will be played Saturday at Madison Square Garden.

In two somewhat stunning series, the Los Angeles Kings and Phoenix Coyotes have both advanced to the NHL’s Western Conference Finals. The schedule is not yet set but should be released shortly.

The winner of the Kings vs Coyotes will of course advance to the Stanley Cup Finals. This is the furthest the Coyotes have ever ventured into the Stanley Cup playoffs. Between this and news of a possible new team owner, the Coyotes fans are on an all-time high, no doubt!

The Kings are a formidable foe for anyone, as they have entered as a number 8 seed but proceeded to upset the number 1 seeded Vancouver Canucks (4 games to 1) and then the number 2 seed St. Louis Blues (4 games to 0). A shocking 8-1 record through two rounds, the Kings appear to be firing on all cylinders and clearly will be well rested by the time round 3 begins.

Last night the Coyotes completed their somewhat surprising elimination of the Nashville Predators, 4 games to 1. Nashville entered the playoffs as one of the favorites to emerge from the West but they had no answer for the strong goaltending of Phoenix’s Mike Smith and the timely scoring by the Coyotes. The stifling defense of Phoenix made it impossible for the Predators to climb back into the series.

The Coyotes will have home-ice advantage in this best-of-seven series, early rumors suggest Game 1 may be this Saturday. However it is expected the NHL will wait until the Eastern Conference matchup is settled. New Jersey leads Philadelphia 3 games to 1 with game 5 tonight in Philadelphia as the Flyers hope to stave off elimination. In the other Eastern series the New York Rangers stunned the Washington Capitals last night to steal game 5. New York scored with 6.6 seconds remaining in the third period to tie the game and then 1:35 into overtime to win. A double-minor penalty to the Capitals with under 30 seconds remaining in the 3rd period allowed New York to pull a thrilling victory from the jaws of defeat.

Find NHL playoff tickets for all series, every game. For the diehard fan there is nothing that matches the intensity of a playoff hockey game.

A 4-3 overtime victory in Game 3 last night has given the New Jersey Devils a 2-1 lead in their Eastern Conference Semifinal series against the rival Philadelphia Flyers.

Two of the three games in this series have gone to overtime, each of those games ending with a score of 4-3. Game 1 also went to OT only to see Flyers center Danny Briere blast a slapshot past screened Devils goalie Martin Brodeur to stake a 1-0 series lead to Philadelphia.

Game 2 was a tight battle on the scoreboard until 11:17 of the third period when David Clarkson scored to give New Jersey a 2-1 lead. The Devils went on to pad the lead with a few insurance markers and ended with a 4-1 victory.

Game 4 between these heated foes will take place at Newark’s Prudential Center on Sunday May 6 with an opening faceoff time of 7:30pm.

In the other Eastern Conference Semifinal series, the New York Rangers currently hold a 2-1 lead over the Washington Capitals. New York won games 1 and 3, the Capitals took game 2.

Game 3 of that series was one for the ages. A triple overtime game which began Wednesday evening and ended Thursday morning in the nation’s capital.

Rangers sniper Marian Gaborik ended the marathon game at 14:41 of the third overtime period. Only 5:19 before they would’ve pushed it to a fourth overtime period!

The game is the 20th longest playoff game in Stanley Cup history and the first triple overtime game for the New York Rangers since 1971.

The teams meet again tomorrow at the Verizon Center before returning to New York on Monday for Game 5. Typically they are hard to find, but NY Rangers playoff tickets are available here if you are interested in being at Madison Square Garden for the next game.
