New Jersey Nets Open Season 2-1
Sunday, October 31st, 2010It’s the beginning of the NBA season, and the 2-1 Nets are already second in the Atlantic Division.
The first two games of the season for the Nets consisted of a late-game comeback from point guard Devin Harris. In the final few minutes of the fourth quarter during the Nets 106-100 win over the Sacramento Kings, Harris generated a late charge for the Nets and scored 21 points.
Before their furious comeback, the Nets made careless turnovers and poor decisions digging themselves an eight-point hole in the second quarter. Fortunately, Harris and the rest of the team were inspired to push forward and score 11 straight. Up until that point the Nets opened their season undefeated 2-0.
Despite the Nets’ undefeated start to the season, Halloween was not so good to them. Earlier tonight the Miami Heat beat the Nets 101-78. The Nets were led by Brook Lopez who made 5 rebounds and had 20 points. Rookie David Favors added 13 points to the Nets’ score. The rookie also had an impressive 13 rebounds.
Last year the Nets opened their season 0-18. All things considered, the Nets are off to a great start for the 2010-2011 NBA season. The New Jersey Nets will play their next game at the Prudential Center on Wednesday, November 3 against the Charlotte Bobcats.
