Allen Iverson NBA All Star Game Starter
The players for the NBA All Star Game have been announced. Among the Eastern Conference starters are Dwyane Wade, Kevin Garnett, Lebron James and Dwight Howard. None of these come as surprise, but there is one starter who is stirring up some controversy. Allen Iverson.
Many fans were upset at this decision because Iverson has only played in 19 games, for 32 minutes, averaging a career low of 14 points, and 4 assists per game. Some fans believed that some of the players who have had better seasons than Iverson include Rajon Rondo, Joe Johnson, or Derrick Rose should have gotten the nod. Despite the controversy, Iverson claims that if he dropped out of the game he would be disrespecting the people who did vote for him.
This is Iverson’s 11th straight season being voted into the All Star Game, and his 3rd straight time being a starter. In this time span he has represented 3 different teams. His All Star Game career includes 2 MVP awards in 2001 and 2005.
The 2010 NBA All-Star Game will be played on February 14, 2010 at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Don’t miss your chance to experience some of the NBA’s best play together live in person.
