Reserves for the 2010 NBA All-Star Game Announced
Sunday, January 31st, 2010Starters for the 2010 NBA All-Star Game were announced earlier. The starters from the West and East are decided by fan voting. With 2,549,693 votes LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers is the leading vote receiver for the East. The Los Angeles Lakers’ Kobe Bryant was second to James with 2,456,224 votes. Joining them will be Steve Nash, Carmelo Anthony, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Allen Iverson, and more.
Although the starters are voted in the game by the fans, the reserve players are chosen differently. They are chosen by 30 of the NBA’s head coaches. The coaches were to select 14 players which would be comprised of seven players from both the Western Conference and the Eastern Conference, and would consist of 2 forwards, 2 guards, 1 center, and 2 other additional players.
Joining LeBron James from the Eastern Conference are Rajon Rondo, Al Horford, Gerald Wallace and Derrick Rose, Joe Johnson, Chris Bosh, and Paul Pierce. The reserves from the Western Conference are Dirk Nowitzki, Pau Gasol, Chris Paul, Zach Randolph, Brandon Roy, Kevin Durant, and Deron Williams.
The 2010 NBA All-Star Game is a chance for you to see the NBA’s best players battling it out. This years’ All-Star Game will be played on February 14, 2010 at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
