Can the Giants Take Control of the NFC East?

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

By losing the last 5 out of 6 games, the New York Giants have successfully jeopardized their playoff chances. If they can get their act together, they might be able to take control of the NFC East. New York has 3 straight NFC East games that can make or break their season.

The New York Giants started the season strong. They went 5-0 in the beginning of the season against opponents such as Washington, Kansas City, Tampa Bay, and Oakland. But the Giants have played badly for almost 2 months now, falling to teams such as New Orleans and Philadelphia. Their last victory was on October 11 in overtime against the Falcons. However, the Giants did play well in week 2 against Dallas when they won 33-31.

On Sunday, the Giants will face the Dallas Cowboys who are in first place. The Giants are currently 2 games behind the Cowboys. A loss of this game will almost certainly kill the Giants’ chances of being division champs. Next they will host the Philadelphia Eagles before traveling to Washington to play the Redskins.

The 6-5 Giants are up against some tough competition. They need to beat the 8-3 Cowboys, 7-4 Eagles, and the 3-7 Redskins. Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys is the time to start.
