Giants Last Game at Giants Stadium

The New York Giants said goodbye to Giants Stadium after 283 games on Sunday, and it seemed as though the team saved their worst performance for their last. They lost 41-9 to the Carolina Panthers in one of the team’s most embarrassing performances. The Giants failed miserably in a must-win game to even have a chance at saving their season.

The Giants were interested in putting on a show for their loyal fans, but instead they gave them a reason to leave early. The Giants did not score any points in the 1st half for the 2nd time in the last 5 games. New York was killed by the Panthers who scored 3 touchdowns in the second quarter which gave them a halftime lead of 24-0. In fact, the score was 31-0 before the Giants even scored.

Knowing that the Giants have never overcome a 10 point deficit this season, they knew the game was basically over. The Giants played an embarrassing game, and with 2 interceptions, and 2 fumbles, the team made 4 turnovers. They had a mere 6 carries, and only 60 rushing yards.

After 34 years at Giants Stadium, the Giants ended their 2009 season, and said goodbye to their current stadium.  The Giants will move into their new $1.7 billion stadium in 2010.
