NY Rangers’ Captain Chris Drury Returns

Chris Drury, captain of the New York Rangers, suffered from a concussion on Saturday, November 7. The concussion occurred during the Calgary Flames game when Drury endured a blindside hit to his chin from the shoulder of the Flames’ Curtis Glencross.

Drury began practicing and skating again on Saturday. He then returned for the first time in 5 games on Wednesday night against the Florida Panthers.

The New York Rangers won 2-1 in a shootout over the Panthers. This was the 2nd shootout for the Rangers of the season, and P.A. Parenteau made the winning shot in both of the games. This victory gave the Rangers’ back to back wins for the first time since October.

The captain entered Wednesday’s game against the panthers with 4 assists and 2 goals in 18 games. In Drury’s two seasons with the Rangers, he has averaged 33.5 assists and 23.5 goals.

Drury helped set up the first goal of the night for the Rangers. In the final half minute of the 2nd period, Marian Gaborik gave the Rangers an early lead with a power play from Drury.

The New York Rangers will play their next game in Tampa Bay against the Lightning on Friday night.
