Bon Jovi to Open the New Giants Stadium
Bruce Springsteen may have hosted the final shows at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, but it will be Bon Jovi who will open the new $1.6 billion stadium.
On October 22 at the Meadowlands Entertainment Complex, the enduring rock band announced a two year world tour called “The Circle World Tour.” Bon Jovi announced that their April 26 and 27 shows will not only be wrapping up their tour, but they will also be the first events at the new stadium which will be home to the Giants and Jets.
The tour will kick off in North America on February 19 in Seattle, Washington. The tour plans to visit 30 countries and perform 135 shows before it wraps up in 2011.
“The Circle World Tour” will be in support of Bon Jovi’s new album, Circle, which will hit stores on November 10. The Circle is promised to return to a more hard rock sounds after their last album took a turn that was more towards country music.
