New Line Up for the New York Rangers
The New York Rangers will be playing their first pre-season game at Madison Square Garden against the Boston Bruins on Tuesday, September 15 at 7 p.m. Here are a couple games you cannot miss: Thursday, October 27 vs. New Jersey Devils, Saturday, December 26 vs. New York Islanders, and Wednesday, December 30 vs. Philadelphia Flyers.
This will be the New York Rangers’ first training camp and full season under head coach John Tortorella. Tortorella has a chance to make them the fast, aggressive team he likes to coach. With strong goaltending from Henrik Lundqvist, Tortorella feels his team can afford to take offensive risks because Lundqvist will bail them out more often than not.
The New York Rangers have made many line up changes during the summer. Marian Gaborik is the new high-scoring forward who signed on to play in the off-season. The team traded Scott Gomez to Montreal for Long Island native, Chris Higgins. They also traded Lauri Korpikoski to Phoenix for the talented Enver Lisin.
The New York Rangers signed tough guy winger, Donald Brashear, and speedy winger, Ales Kotalik. They decided to walk away from arbitration ruling, making Nikolai Zherdev a free agent. And finally, they signed veteran forward Vaclav Prospal.
