Last Chance to See The Little Mermaid on Broadway
Disney’s The Little Mermaid will have its last performance at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in New York City on Sunday, August 30. The number one selling Broadway musical of 2008 has been seen by nearly one million people. Since January 2008, the show has had 685 performances and 50 previews
It’s no surprise that the show receives rave reviews because of the dedicated cast and crew. The Little Mermaid is directed by the award winning Francesca Zambello and is produced by Thomas Schumacher. The show stars Chelsea Morgan Stock as Ariel, Drew Seeley as Prince Eric, and Faith Prince as Ursula. The show is choreographed by Olivier Award Winner Stephen Mear and has costumes from designer Tatiana Noginova.
The score of The Little Mermaid was created by Oscar-winner Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman. The show features songs from the film that you definitely want to see live such as “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl,” “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” and “Part of Your World.” There are also ten new songs by Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater. These songs include “The World Above,” “Her Voice,” and “If Only.”
