Bravos Blank NY as Yankees Fall Four Back
The Yankees opened a three-game series in Atlanta today needing some wins to keep pace in the AL East, or perhaps even cut into the lead three-game lead held by the Red Sox. Unfortunately for the Yanks, however, they were unable to get off to a solid start on Tuesday. With Boston playing the Major League worst Washington Nationals, the Yanks 4-0 loss on Tuesday is unlikely to yield anything but a greater division deficit for the Yanks.
Brian McCann led the Braves, going 3-4 including a homerun and two of the Braves four RBI. The Yankees will have two more chances to improve the AL East record, while the Red Sox will continue to try and hold them off from the distant confines of Washington, DC.
It’s been a rather streaky season for the Yankees so far, but despite their ups and downs, being only four games back is not a bad place to be in at the halfway point of the season. If you’re a Yankees fan, the club will definitely need you down the stretch, so buy some Yankees tickets and be there for the ups and downs that are yet to come!
