Mets Lose as They Continue to Battle for NL East Lead
The Mets are working hard to capture the lead in the NL East, and with the All Star break quickly approaching, they find themselves only three games out of the lead behind Philadelphia.
On Wednesday night, they hit a stumbling block in Baltimore, as the Orioles turned them back 6-4. It would have been a great opportunity for them if they had managed to win, as the Philies are currently riding a two-game losing streak.
The difference-maker in the game for Baltimore was Aubrey Huff, whose 7th inning two-run blast put the Orlioles in the lead for good. Reliever Pedro Feliciano took the loss for the Mets and fell to 2-2 for the year.
All things considered, the Mets are looking good this year and have a real shot at winning the East – of course a lead going into the All Star break would be a huge morale booster. Grab some Mets tickets and help them make their mark!
