The biggest rivalry in all of sports has been very lopsided this year, as the Red Sox have continued to dominate the Yankees and have won every contest this year against their AL East rivals to improve to 7-0 on the season against the Yankees. But more importantly for the Red Sox, the win snapped a first place tie in the division – one that the Yankees had scratched and clawed for in the past 4 weeks – giving the Sox a division lead.

One of the great stories on the season for the Sox is knuckleballer Tim Wakefield, who is notoriously hit-or-miss who and who now has his team-leading 8th win of the season while also picking up his 8th quality start.
