For years, the American League East has been the best division in the AL, and usually all of baseball – likewise, the AL West has consistently been the worst team in the AL, with only the abysmal NL West trailing their AL counterparts.

The New York Yankees have been one of the best teams in the AL East over that time, and are – not surprisingly – one of the hottest teams in the league right now. In the West, the Texas rangers are – very surprisingly – leading the division by using phenomenal offensive numbers to abate the competition.

Something had to give when the Yankees visited the Ballpark in Arlington to face the Yankees. And the Yankees were the ones that delivered as they won 11-1 and amazingly enough, the Rangers one run came from a solo homer, while the Yankees hit no homeruns all night.

However, the Yankees did have several standout performances. Johnny Damon was 3-4, former Ranger Mark Teixeira was 3-4, and Alex Rodriguez was 5-5 with 4 RBI.
