Team USA, Japan, Korea, and Venezuela Fight for WBC Title

After two weeks of international competition from Australia, to South Africa, to the Netherlands; we are now down to our final four in the World Baseball Classic. Either Japan, Korea, Venezuela, or Team USA will reign supreme when all is said and done and will be crowned BCS champion for 2009.

The semi finals pit Korea and Venezuela against each other, with the winner facing the winner between Japan and the USA. Despite a load of injuries (particularly to Team USA, it seems), there are still many high-profile Major Leaguers in the tournament.

Among them are:

Team Venezuela’s Magglio Ordonez, Felix Hernandez, Francisco Rodriquez, Miguel Cabrera, Marco Scutaro, and Bobby Abreu.

Team Japan’s: Daisuke Matsuzaka, Ichiro Suzuki, Kenji Jojima, Kouke Fukudome and, Akinori Iwamura.

Team Korea’s Shin-Soo Choo of the Cleveland Indians

Team USA’s: David Wright, Derek Jeter, Evan Longoria, Kevin Youkilis, Ryan Braun, Chipper Jones, Roy Oswalt, and Jake Peavy – among many others.

Grab some tickets and enjoy the WBC finals, or grab some baseball tickets and catch another MLB team in spring training. Opening Day is almost here!
