ARod Homers, as Yankees Win First of ’09
Many people wondered if all the press and public opinion surrounding ARod and his steroid admission would affect his play in ’09, while there is no way we can actually answer those questions, it is safe to say that, for now, it looks like he might be ok.
Rodriguez slammed a homer in the fourth inning of the Yankees 6-1 victory over Toronto that marks their first win in their first game of 2009. A very mixed audience met ARod prior to his team’s spring training debut in the Blue Jays spring park in Florida, and Rodriguez responded well going 1-for-1 with two RBI on his home run.
Other stars for the game were center fielder Bret Gardner who also had a HR in the first inning, and the eight Yankee pitchers who combined to give up only one run in the nine innings pitched.
I have a great feeling about spring training this year, it’s going to be a great opportunity to buy Yankees tickets for their Grapefruit League games, so snatch some up and enjoy America’s pastime!
