Will Steroids Admission Kill A-Rod’s Hall Chances?

In short, I don’t think that A-Rod will miss out on the Hall of Fame, despite his recent accusal and admission of steroids abuse during his time with the Texas Rangers in the early 21st century. My argument stems basically on the fact that by the time sports writers are voting for A-Rod, there will be a greater understanding of the steroids era and the parity that it provided.

While I do think that Mark McGwire and Barry Bonds will be left out of the Hall of Fame, there may still be hope for A-Rod whose career is far from over and can still prove himself in the post-steroids era of Major League Baseball.

We know that many players in this generation were guilty of using PED’s but because of the sheer volume of players who used, they were competing against equal odds and that makes the “cheater” tag a little less true.
This season will be huge for A-Rod as he tries to adjust to life as a know PED user. We’ll see how he handles it. Don’t miss out on your chance to see the future Cooperstown inductee – get some New York Yankees tickets for the’09 season!
