Jets Looking to Be Among AFC’s Elite
Thursday, October 9th, 2008The New York Jets were the beneficiaries of the off-season’s biggest move, as the acquired Brett Favre, fresh off of his “divorce” with Green Bay. The addition of the seasoned veteran QB has been a huge lift for the team which has begun the season with a 2-2 record with their only losses coming to New England and San Diego, the two teams that played for the AFC championship last year.
In their week 4 game against Arizona, the Jets offense put up 56 points, as Favre put up 6 touch downs, his highest offensive production of his long and accomplished career. The win against Arizona proved that Favre could easily adapt to the Jets style of play and would not be hampered by any inability to adjust from the Green Bay offensive schemes that he spend so many years running.
The Jets are probably the best 2-2 team in the AFC and are looking to improve on that mark in week six against a winless Cincinnati team that has been playing exponentially better in the past couple of weeks. As the season continues, look for Favre to continue to gain comfort in the Jets offense, and if Eric Mangini will continue to allow Brett to be himself, expect great things from the J-E-T-S this winter.
Grab some New York Jets tickets and watch Favre, Laveranues Coles, and Thomas Jones try and separate themselves from the AFC East and the rest of the Conferences elite teams.
