4-0 Giants Feeling Confident
By the end of the NFL’s week 5 schedule, there were only two teams remaining undefeated, the AFC’s Tennessee Titans, and the Defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants from the NFC. While both teams have obviously looked good so far, the Giants have dominated the competition (outside of their overtime win in a must-win game for Cincinnati.
Posting up 41, 26, and 44 points in their last three games respectively, the Giants have now won eight straight dating back to last season, (including, of course, a Super Bowl victory against then undefeated New England).
Led by QB Eli Manning and RB Brandon Jacobs, who have both been phenomenal so far this year, the Giants are looking to repeat as Super Bowl champions in February. If so, they would be the first teams to do so since the Patriots in 2004 and 2005. Many people couldn’t help but wonder, if the suspension of WR Plaxico Burress during week five was going to hurt the team, but the Giants put on an offensive clinic despite missing their star receiver as they pummeled the Seattle Seahawks 44-6.
This week the Giants travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns, who bring in a record of 1-3 in the AFC north. Despite their record, many people picked them to win that division this year, and feel that they are better than the team’s record. It would definitely be a mistake for the Giants to overlook them.
If you’re in Cleveland this week, grab some New York Giants tickets, and be a part of the game!
