Mets Finish Milwaukee in 10

The Milwaukee Brewers would be put away easily yesterday as it took the Mets 10 innings to finally win 6-5. After pushing out to a four run lead in the third inning, the Brewers put up a four spot in the fourth, and the game was tied at fives for the remainder of the regulation game.

In the tenth, however, Daniel Murphy, the Mets Rookie left fielder came in to pinch hit for the pitcher, promptly hitting the game winning single as the Mets closed the door by shutting down the Brewers in the bottom half of the inning.

Carlos Beltran’s 3-run shot in the third inning was the lone homerun for the Mets and provided the majority of their offense throughout regulation. Ricky Meeks had a solo homer, as well, for the Brewers.

Both teams are facing a critical stretch run in September as the Mets look to hold on to a two game advantage in the East, while the Brewers are four games behind the Cubs in the Central. Currently Milwaukee leads the wild card race, trying to stave off Philadelphia whom they lead by 4.5.

The Mets need fan support to continue their run for the playoffs. Grab some Mets tickets and show your support!
