The New York Yankees are a proud and historic organization and will be playing in one of the nation’s most famous ballparks for the final time at the end of this season. However, the club is on the verge of ending their relationship with Yankee Stadium prematurely as they are in serious danger of missing the playoffs this year.

While there will full house after full house of fans buying NY Yankees tickets throughout the coming weeks, there may not be as much cause for celebration, as the Yanks stand 10 full games out of first place in the division and five-and-a-half out of the wildcard lead.

What’s worse, is that the team’s September slate is chock full of difficult opponents including six games against the AL East leading Rays as well as three game series against division leaders, Los Angeles, Chicago, as well as their final series in Boston.

What does this all mean? The Yankees need to start winning now, if they plan on prolonging their season – and the legacy of Yankee Stadium – beyond September.
