Parton Brings “Nine to Five” to Broadway
There will be a new musical on Broadway starting next spring. The new musical, “Nine to Five”, based on the film from 1980 will be playing at the Marquis Theater on Broadway starting in April of 2009. The musical, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton will first play in Los Angeles at the Ahmanson Theater from September through October 19.
Nine to Five tells the story of three female co-workers who are pushed to the brink by their boss that concoct a plan in order to get even with him. As they attempt to get revenge on their egotistical, lying, sexist, and hypocritical boss, their plan spins wildly out of control.
Broadway tickets online will be available for “Nine to Five” very soon, so start looking for them and be a part of one of the great new musicals coming to Broadway in 2009.
Also switching to Broadway in 2009, is “Mary Stuart” a history-based play that was a huge hit in London. Directed by Phyllida Lloyd, “Mary Stuart” will arrive on Broadway next spring to a theatre that is yet to be determined.
